Enter Winner's. In the beginning, this store was a godsend. I was getting nice Greg Norman shirts for no more than $40. But that was then. A typical browse through the golf shirt section of Winner's these days yields yellow, pink and baby blue striped numbers; or inappropriate solids like mustard yellow, snot green, or Prince purple. Don't get me wrong - there's nothing wrong with purple, but it doesn't really match the pants I wear every day. All I want is your basic dark colours - blacks, navy blues, evergreens and browns. Either Winner's isn't getting the good colours anymore, or they're having employee 'first dibs' parties when the shipments come in, leaving the public with utter crap. Yet the prices continue to rise, as if Winner's has suddenly become the Gap of the decade. I know I should be grateful to be able to get a golf shirt for $35 anywhere................... but I saw what happened last week to the poor guy who wore a pink shirt to work - it was brutal.
