In my work, I deal with people from the UK and Australia, among other places. I love hearing about cultural differences between our countries and the cost of living, etc. Today I learned that people in the UK have to purchase a television license just to watch TV. Each TV! That doesn't include what you would pay to a service provider like the cable company or satellite TV company. How much? £131.50 for one colour TV.
