News for those nostalgic about Windows 98 / ME

Hopefully all my readers know that one of the most important ways to stay safe while computing when connected to any network (including the internet) is to get all the security updates from Microsoft as soon as they become available. Automatic updates make this so transparent, you may even forget you are receiving them. Unfortunately for those of you hanging on to your older PCs with Windows 98 or ME, Microsoft will no longer be offering security fixes for you. In a nutshell, they're suggesting it's time to upgrade to 2000 or XP. Of course, that won't always be practical if your computer is more than 5 years old - so guess what? They're basically saying you need a new PC.

Or....................... you could switch to Linux.
